The Driskill “Wedding Experience” was last weekend and the concept was so fun! Each wedding planning company was tasked with designing one part of the wedding weekend in a room at the Driskill + our BZ team had the assignment of creating a rehearsal dinner in the elegant Citadel Club.
Our design approach? Juxtapose natural and approachable elements against the historic and elegant Driskill Hotel. A little bit of Salt Lick mixed with a whole lot of Texas Chic. On the menu — rich wood tables with a mix of chairs and benches for seating. Fun antique cheese boxes mixed with dahlias, artichokes and tulips. Pops of gold and mercury glass candlesticks. And lots of textural burlap and warm amber lighting. Plus, a delicious rehearsal dinner menu of stuffed quail, green chili queso and beer mojitos.
Side note — The Driskill is a great place for a rehearsal dinner, as well as an elegant Austin wedding. They have loads of intimate rooms and spaces just waiting to be transformed into something fun and fabulous. Give Wendy or Scott a call for the scoop!
