Blake + Adam ~ Barton Creek Resort

We wish the Sunshine and Leiber families could be our clients EVERY weekend … they were that much fun! Can we please turn back time and go back?

Back to the slew of dreamy and lush florals, the soft and romantic color palette, the sparkly crystal escort card display and the most adorable couple. We are still dreaming about those gorgeous grapefruit ranunculas and coral peonies.

The two fun love birds said “I do” in front of 200 of their favorite people, under a custom handmade chuppah, expertly crafted by Luci, our talented Mother of the Bride. Barton Creek Resort and Spa was the perfect wedding venue for this group, with gorgeous Hill Country views, just minutes from downtown Austin.

Blake and Adam not only looked amazing on their wedding day, but they had the time of their lives! The dining experience was extremely important to this group, so we helped them craft a unique menu, including a signature spicy Jalapeno margarita (Blake’s favorite!), that was mixed to perfection. And their Longhorn cake ball groom’s cake was tweeted and instagrammed many times that evening!

After dinner service, guests were ready to get moving! Thanks to Blind Date, the dance floor (and stage) was packed for the whole evening, right up until the breakfast taco and milk and cookie midnight snack farewell.

Blake, Adam, Luci + Stan — BZ misses you all! What a fun and unforgettable journey together. Thank you for trusting our team with the planning and design of your wedding! When is the next party?? hint hint

Sneak Peek Monday ~ Sara + Phil

BZ kicked off 2013 (yay!) this past weekend with a fun and gorgeous wedding for Sara + Phil. Full of natural elements, mixed with candlelight + sparkly touches, Mercury Hall was aglow … with love from the newlyweds and the amazing decor!

Crave Catering did a phenominal job with the menu — lots of fun Louisiana flair and  Cajun spice. Guests enjoyed the warm January weather while sipping Micheladas and nibbling on oysters, mini corn dogs and Po’ boys.

Our favorite BZ design plan elements = gold antlers, perfectly designed gold foil stationery, chic vintage lounge vingnettes, + our surprise end of the night confetti bombs. Loved it all. Including Sara’s amazing custom Stanley Korshak gown. To. die. for.

I had a blast designing this wedding and working with our awesome clients, Sara + MOB of the year, Susan Lowery. Miss you all, already!

~Megan

January 29, 2013 - 9:23 am wendee sawran - flufferfetti!

January 29, 2013 - 12:47 pm Libby Poche - I just have to comment! The atmosphere at Sara & Phil's wedding was so warm, peaceful and beautiful under the live-oak trees at Mercury Hall. The ceremony was the most romantic, the food was divine, and the music before, during and after w/dancing made for the most fun we've had in YEARS!!! The bride and groom are so 'in love' that we could feel 'love' in the air. Their families were most gracious, kind and welcoming to all those that came to celebrate this most intimate joyous occasion. Thanks to all that made this wedding the most memorable of all, and best wishes to Sara & Matt Quirk! May the Lord remain your focus forever and always! Love ya'll, Uncle Dave & Libby

January 29, 2013 - 3:44 pm Libby Poche - My apology for wishes to Sara and Matt....Correction: My best wishes to Sara and PHIL Quirk ...LOL I guess I'll make the same darn mistake at Matt Quirk's wedding this summer? HOPE NOT!! Forgive me, Libby & Dave Poche'

January 29, 2013 - 5:49 pm Susan Lowery - Libby....you made me howl! Don't you love when there is no edit button? Your comment was spot on about the wedding. LOVE was definitely in the air and everywhere! All of our vendors were so outstanding and made everything magical for Sara + Phil and everyone that came to celebrate! And, YES, Wendee Sawran....flufferfetti is the word! xox

What do you get the person who has everything? A fabulous bottle of wine or five! And not the cheapie girls night variety. Sip, savor + celebrate, y’all.

I’m loving this idea, spotted over on the Martha Stewart blog. For the couple who has everything … or those who just appreciate fine wine and cheese. BZ’s idea du jour = a Wine Registry.

Here’s the scoop — register for those bottles that strike your fancy or join a “wine club” which pre-selects varietals that are fun and different. Add good wine glasses (Riedel!) to your registry and you have a monthly date night with your new hubby.

Fun ideas — pick wines that remind you of your honeymoon in Italy or Napa. Maybe pick a wine that reminds you of your first date or to reminisce about the spot where you got engaged.

Tangerine Blues

Happy Monday!

We are back from the Windy City + beyond inspired from our fun adventure. So many delicious restaurants, great educational sessions and pretty party ideas. Here’s our second tabletop design from the TSE Tabletop design galleries, Tangerine Blues. Think a garden lunch party in Oprah’s backyard.

BZ design plan elements = lots of woods, birch + wicker. Soothing blues with a pop of rich + fun orange florals. Hand painted wooden menus. The most delicious floral mix of protea, roses, parrot tulips + Mokara orchids. Mixed glassware with a pop of amber. And super fun tangerine votive cups!

Enjoy!

The Modern Speakeasy

Presenting … the Modern Speakeasy! This tabletop design has been a huge hit on the TSE trade show floor and we’ve had so much fun drawing inspiration from all of the designs. Our Modern Speakeasy tabletop concept = a little bit of 2013 + lots of 1920s glam and glitz.

BZ’s design plan elements = black leather linens, gold rimmed glassware, hand-embossed glittered gold foil menus, loads of delicious phalaenopsis orchids, yummy gold chargers, chic china, Art Deco inspired chairs and just a pop of the color of the year, Emerald.

And how cute are our mini flask place cards? Speakeasy. Flask. Get it? You saw these here first, friends.

Enjoy!

From Inspiration to Reality ~ BZ’s TSE Tabletops

Goooood morning!

By the time you read this, Team BZ will be dressed in our warmest parkas, scarves, mittens and be braving the Chicago snowy weather! We love Chi-town + can’t wait to try Oprah’s favorite popcorn and a slice of Chicago deep dish, y’all. #notpaleo

This week, we are excited to be finalists in TSE’s (The Special Event Show) Tabletop Design competition. Event Planners + Designers from all over the US entered original designs to be re-created on the trade show floor for thousands to see. Lucky us, we had two designs chosen!

We are super excited to represent Austin and to recreate our two concepts — The Modern Speakeasy and Tangerine Blues — for this industry conference and we can’t wait to share the finished tables on the BZ blog. For now, enjoy our inspiration boards and wish us luck!

If you’d like to get a sneak peek, feel free to stalk us on social media, where we’ll be tweeting and instagramming away. #bzevents // @BZevents

HUGE thanks to our creative team for collaborating with us on this fun project :: Unexpected Elements + Anibella Ink + Paper. Love you ladies!

Boho Chic

Happy Friday! Megan here with my first post of the New Year.

Let’s talk resolutions. Did you make any? Less working, more drinking? 100% Paleo, 80% of the time? Running Town Lake? … tomorrow.

Whatever your goals are for the New Year, I have just one more for you, brides + grooms. Vintage. We loved it, you loved it, Anthropologie loved that everyone loved it. But its time for a vintage retirement party.

I’d like to introduce y’all to Vintage’s chic + more refined older cousin, Bohemian. Boho = rich colors, carefully curated, but eclectic tabletop elements + a touch of whimsy. Antlers, textural flowers + pretty paper with fun fonts. The look is intentional + beautiful. We love it. Not so much the dusty mason jars + grandma’s attic quilts.

Need a little more convincing? Scroll down for a little boho inspiration.

Follow Me to The Emerald City

What better way to celebrate 2013 than with the recently-announced color of the year … emerald green?!

Move over, Dorothy!

Endorsed by Pantone, emerald green is all things positive, sophisticated, luxurious and energizing. Over the past year, emerald green has become more popular among designers and is set to make huge impact in 2013 design + event trends. Looking back at the blog, we highlighted this hot color on our last trip to TSE (The Special Event Show) in 2011.

Whether on your tabletop, flowers, decor or wedding party, emerald green will definitely make a statement at your next event. BZ hearts the color of the year!

~ Henry
